The Wolf King of Tennessee

Yo Pims,

Long time no writey write.

So a quick catch up...

The Detroit Tigers are in the World Series. The Tigers are down 3-1 and have their collective furry back against the wall. Bite back boys...

Ford and Corker - Tennessee Senatorial candidates - are both complete losers and their supposed heated battle to lead the Volunteer State in Washington is little more than the most flatuent sort of display of the kind of dumbass, corrupt, greedy, spineless, dirtbags that are currently being offered up for the voters to engage in some kind of sick ritual that leads to little more than an opiated constituency that gets to pick which low-down crook is going to tear our country apart at the seams. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work.

I am listening to one of the greatest singers I have ever heard in my life. Stop everything you are doing and seek out some tunes by the great Scott Walker! His band, The Walker Brothers, had more fans in their English fanclub than the Beatles back in the '60s. After they broke up, he set out on one of the most singularly creative paths of any musician I am aware of.

I am also checking a great album by John Phillips (The Mamas and the Papas) that - although technically untitled - is known as "The Wolf King of L.A." Such a singular example of early '70s California singer/songwriter decadence and glory that you don't so much listen to it as swim in it...

Be humble in your sleepy hands on this world.
Be a killer in Heaven.

Love, Joe Nolan
